How to get to Goderdzi without driving the mountain road yourself: a private transfer from Batumi to Goderdzi ski resort. The road follows the Adjaristskali valley, and its last 15 km climb into the mountains and can be icy in winter. You ride in a 4×4 or a minivan on winter tyres, and your skis and snowboards come with you.

Batumi → Keda → Shuakhevi → Khulo → Goderdzi, about 120 km along the Adjaristskali river valley.
2.5-3 hours in good weather, 3.5-4 hours during snowfall. On clear mornings in January 2026 drivers made it in 2 h 15 min to 2 h 35 min, and on the snowy road of 14 January in 3 h 20 min. After a very heavy snowfall, allow extra time while the road is cleared. Leave Batumi at 7:00 to be on the slopes when the lifts open at 10:00.
Most of the road is asphalt; in summer 2026 the section between Shuakhevi and Khulo was being resurfaced. In winter the most demanding part is the last 15 km after Khulo, and the climb after the old bridge, about 4 km before the resort, can be icy: drive slowly and keep your distance.
In winter the police periodically check winter tyres near Khulo. Tyres with the snowflake (3PMSF) marking are recommended. Carry chains after heavy snowfall. A 4×4 helps, but good winter tyres matter most of all.
The Goderdzi Pass road from Adigeni and Akhaltsikhe is not cleared in winter, roughly from mid-December to late April. Navigation apps may still suggest this route, so remember that in winter every road to the resort goes through Batumi. The easiest way from Tbilisi is a train or flight to Batumi, then our transfer. A direct transfer from Tbilisi or Kutaisi is available on request.
In the 2025/26 season a bus ran from the old bus station in Batumi, usually in the late morning (around 11:00), and the fare was about 25 GEL. Its last stop was in front of Ambassadori. The timetable is not fixed and trips can be cancelled, especially in snowfall, so check at the bus station before you go. The bus arrives in the afternoon, so it does not suit a one-day ski trip.

Goderdzi is 120 km from Batumi. In winter every road to the resort comes through Batumi and Khulo: the Goderdzi Pass road from Akhaltsikhe and Adigeni is closed from about mid-December to late April. From May until the first heavy snow the pass is open, and the drive from eastern Georgia is much shorter. Distances and times below are approximate, for good weather and without long stops.
Transfers from Batumi have fixed prices from ₾350 per car. Pickup at Batumi airport, in Kutaisi, Tbilisi, Bakuriani, Gudauri or another city is on request: send the form and we reply with the price.

In winter (about mid-December to late April) via Batumi: by car about 480 km and 8-9 hours, or by train to Batumi (about 5-5.5 hours) and then a transfer to the resort (2.5-3 hours). From May, when the Goderdzi Pass is open, the drive via Borjomi and Akhaltsikhe is about 250 km and 4-5 hours. A direct transfer from Tbilisi is available on request.
About 250 km via Akhaltsikhe and the Goderdzi Pass when the pass is open (usually May to November). In winter the pass is closed, and the route through Kutaisi and Batumi is about 480 km.
Go to Batumi first: about 120 km, 1.5-2 hours by car or 2-3 hours by Georgian Bus or Metro Georgia bus. From Batumi to the resort it is another 120 km, 2.5-3 hours. About 240 km in total. We pick you up at Kutaisi airport on request.

In winter the Goderdzi Pass is closed, so you drive via Borjomi, Khashuri, Kutaisi and Batumi: about 420 km, 7-8 hours. When the pass is open (about May to November), the route via Borjomi and Akhaltsikhe is about 130 km, around 3 hours.
Through Tbilisi. In winter: Gudauri to Tbilisi is about 120 km, then via Kutaisi and Batumi, about 600 km in total, so plan two days or take the train from Tbilisi to Batumi. With the pass open: about 370 km via Tbilisi and Akhaltsikhe, 6-7 hours.
The road from Batumi to the resort is cleared all winter. The Goderdzi Pass road from Adigeni and Akhaltsikhe is closed from about mid-December to late April. In 2026 it reopened in stages from 27 April and was fully passable in early May. In February and early March 2026 a free snowcat carried passengers over the pass from Utkisubani; check each season whether it runs.
